On October 9 of the current year, a “Readers’ Tournament” was held among students of the “Management” educational program at Tashkent State University of Economics. For discussion during the tournament, the book Outliers: The Story of Success by renowned author Malcolm Gladwell was selected. The main objective of the event was to develop students’ critical thinking, ability to conduct rapid analysis and apply innovative approaches, as well as to enhance the knowledge and culture characteristic of a modern manager.
During the tournament, students connected the ideas presented in the book with real-life examples, analyzed the principles proposed by the author, including “smart work, rapid growth, and a creative approach,” and strengthened their ability to substantiate and communicate their opinions through team discussions.
More than 10 groups participated in the event. Following the results of the tournament, the three teams with the highest scores were selected and presented with commemorative gifts. In addition, the most active participants were recognized in the following categories: “Best in-Depth Analysis,” “Most Active Student,” and “Most Creative Idea.”
At the conclusion of the event, the students noted that the tournament had inspired them to think in new ways, apply creative approaches when making managerial decisions, and develop the habit of reading books regularly.
